Quantum Leap Reboot will roll back gas prices to 1985 upon new activation

We are a few days away from returning Quantum leap, with a rebooted version of the hit sci-fi series arriving on NBC later this month. To celebrate the debut of the time travel and body jumping show, a new activation will be made that will bring a blast from the past into the real world. NBC has announced Quantum Leap Day, which will happen on Thursday, September 15th. In the Los Angeles area, this would include a full test drive of the 1985 simulator, the era in which the pilot episode was set. That would include a chance to come get gas for 0.91 cents a gallon — the average price it was in 1985, while supplies lasted.

Activation will take place at Avalon Parking Lot, at 1749 N. Vine Street, beginning at 9:00 AM PT. Once guests enter Avalon’s parking lot, they can drive through a quantum accelerator and back in the year 1985, where they’ll immerse themselves in everything from the ’80s to melodies and trivia to dancers, snacks, and booty. They will then be able to drive to the check-in yard where they can get a registered pass to fill their tank for 0.91 cents per gallon, up to 10 gallons. All three types of gas and diesel are accepted. Obviously, reduced gas will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last, and the activation does not allow for walk-throughs, motorized trucks, truck tractors, RVs, large buses, or gas cans.

For those who can’t make it to Los Angeles, NBC will partner with Fandango to offer a promotion for Quantum Leap Day, allowing fans to purchase a movie ticket for $3.55. The code will be distributed to www.quantumleapday.com at 9:00 AM PT and will be redeemable while supplies last.

What is the topic of the new quantum leap?

in the new Quantum leap, It’s been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett got into the Quantum Leap accelerator and disappeared. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project in hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it. Everything changes, however, when Ben makes an unauthorized jump in the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. Addison (Caitlin Bassett) stands beside Ben throughout his jumps, which appears as a hologram only Ben can see and hear. She’s a decorated veteran of the military that lends a subtlety to her job.

Leading the top-secret operation, Herbert “Magic” Williams (Ernie Hudson), is a no-nonsense professional military man who has to respond to his superiors who won’t be happy once they learn of a breach of protocol. The rest of the team at headquarters includes Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park), who runs the Ziggy AI unit, and Jane Chu (Nanrisa Lee), who heads the project’s digital security. As Ben leaps from life to life, and corrects what went wrong, it is clear that he and his team are on an exciting journey. However, Addison, Magic, Ian, and Jane know that if they are going to solve the mystery of Ben’s jump and bring him home, they must act quickly or lose him forever.
